IPL 2026 Live Score for LSG vs. RCB: Marsh and Prince help LSG end a six-match losing skid

May 7, 2026, 3:29 PM

Which side is the most comprehensive or the most incomplete?

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will reach 14 points if they win all of their next games. They will already be at 14 if they defeat their next opponent, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Against RCB, Mitchell Marsh scored 111 in 56 balls
Against RCB, Mitchell Marsh scored 111 in 56 balls

The distance between these two sides is that great. The reigning champions, RCB, appear to be this tournament's most complete team, capable of winning both high-scoring and mid-scoring games. With their home wickets making their bowlers look like monsters and their inability to defend 228 away, LSG has appeared to be the most imperfect team. Additionally, they gave up a 254 to Punjab Kings (PBKS).

In focus

In 2026, Virat Kohli might be useful on a challenging ground with a large outfield. He's not falling behind. Sanju Samson's strike rate this year is comparable to his, and he trails the Orange Cap holder by just 66. However, in a low-scoring game, he could truly flourish.

With LSG, Rishabh Pant is enjoying yet another quiet and disappointing season. More attention has been given to his conversations with the team owner than to his batting, keeping, or chirps. Now, he has also lost his position at number three. Is it possible for him to break free from his bonds?

May 7, 2026, 4:30 PM

Pant versus Bhuvi

Pant still has a good matchup against the top wicket-taker of this year's IPL: 56 balls, 121 runs, two dismissals, even though 121 Bhuvneshwar Kumar knocked him out cheaply in the rematch.

News about the team

Pant and Aiden Markram were pushed further down the order in LSG's most recent lineup, which featured Josh Inglis as opener and Pooran at No. 3. For once, they got off to a fantastic start, scoring 123 for 1 in eight overs. However, they only managed a final score of 228, revealing their true nature once more. There is no external saviour. LSG will have to make do with what they have. This could entail testing this combo a little.

Lucknow Super Giants (probable) 1 Mitch Marsh, 2 Josh Inglis, 3 Nicholas Pooran, 4 Rishabh Pant (capt, wk), 5 Aiden Markram, 6 Akshat Raghuwanshi, 7 Himmat Singh, 8 Mohammed Shami, 9 Moshin Khan, 10 Avesh Khan, 11 Prince Yadav, 12 M Siddharth

Given the uncertainty surrounding Salt's injury, Jacob Bethell is expected to enjoy a respectable run at the top of the order. RCB experienced a minor setback in the most recent game, losing wickets in a clutch against Gujarat Titans and then having to alter their Impact Player approach. You don't expect this to happen in every match, but Venkatesh Iyer entered the game instead of Rasikh Salam.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (probable) 1 Virat Kohli, 2 Jacob Bethell, 3 Devdutt Padikkal, 4 Rajat Patidar (capt), 5 Jitesh Sharma (wk), 6 Tim David, 7 Romario Shepherd, 8 Krunal Pandya, 9 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10 Josh Hazlewood, 11 Suyash Sharma, 12 Rasikh Salam

RCB bowl remains unchanged; LSG makes three modifications

When Royal Challengers Bengaluru chose to bowl first against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium, Rajat Patidar made the right selection.

Since RCB hasn't altered, Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli will continue to open the batting order while Phil Salt is away. Salt may return during the competition's business end after taking a plane home for scans on his injured finger.

Due to niggles and injuries, LSG had to make several changes. For his first game of the season, Arshin Kulkarni took Josh Inglis' place at the top of the order, while legspinner Digvesh Rathi and left-arm spin all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed replaced the fast-bowling pair of Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan.

According to Pant, this "180-190 wicket" was "better [red-soil wicket] than most of the other games."

Regarding their position at the bottom of the points table, Pant remarked, "We know we're a top team, but the main thing is clarity." "The batting order has changed a little. Although a steady environment is necessary, we occasionally need to make adjustments.

If RCB wins tonight, they will go up to the top of the standings; it's unlikely that LSG will be able to move up from the bottom of the chart.

LSG batting-first XI: 1 Mitch Marsh, 2 Arshin Kulkarni, 3 Nicholas Pooran, 4 Aiden Markram, 5 Rishabh Pant (capt & wk), 6 Akshat Raghuwanshi, 7 Himmat Singh, 8 Shahbaz Ahmed, 9 Digvesh Rathi, 10 Mohammed Shami, 11 Prince Yadav

LSG's Impact player options: Mayank Yadav, Mukul Chowdhary, Abdul Samad, M Siddharth, Avesh Khan.

RCB bowling-first XI 1 Virat Kohli, 2 Jacon Bethell, 3 Devdutt Padikkal, 4 Rajat Patidar (capt), 5 Jitesh Sharma (wk), 6 Romario Shepherd, 7 Krunal Pandya, 8 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 9 Josh Hazlewood, 10 Suyash Sharma, 11 Rasikh Dar

RCB's Impact Player options: Tim David, Jordan Cox, Mangesh Yadav, Vicky Otswal, Venkatesh Iyer.

May 7, 2026, 7:05 PM

Is Arshin the greatest option for LSG to start?

129.71 Maharashtra's SMAT 2025–2026 strike rate. He finished with one half-century and 225 runs in seven innings.

Given Arshin's limited powerplay returns, was there a better argument for Rishabh Pant to open alongside Mitch Marsh if Nicholas Pooran is now their official No. 3? Can Arshin make the most of this chance now that it has finally come?

May 7, 2026, 7:16 PM

Marsh tees off

After a brief rain break, Lofts' Australian buddy Hazlewood hits two identical sixes through the line over mid-off. Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar are also not spared. It's raining sixes, even though it was supposed to rain. Marsh is already at 30 off 13, LSG 39/0 in four overs, having already struck four of them.

May 7, 2026, 7:33 PM

Marsh doesn't spare anyone

Rasikh Dar was brought on by RCB in the fifth over because to Marsh's assault, and the fifty included two massive sixes. As Pant said before the toss, the surface is playing much better than it has in the competition thus far, and this is already an exciting start. LSG 56/0 in five overs.

May 7, 2026, 7:35 PM

The Inglis ruling:

Whether it was right or wrong, it would inevitably become a topic of discussion. Prasanna Agoram, a seasoned T20 circuit analyst who has worked with Cricket South Africa and RCB during the IPL's early years, makes a valid point.

Mitch Marsh, meanwhile, reached a half-century in the sixth over off of just 20 deliveries. It was his second of the year.

May 7, 2026, 7:44 PM

A rematch of the match from 2025?

When these two teams last faced off in Lucknow, LSG scored 227 runs but lost. With an undefeated 85 off 33 balls, Jitesh Sharma made an impression, leading RCB to an incredible chase and, most importantly, securing a top-two finish.

Although the stakes aren't quite as high yet, RCB enters this match with the top spot up for grabs as the tournament's business end draws near. Additionally, they are appropriately under the pump.

When the covers are put back on, LSG is 95/0 in 9 overs. It's raining properly this time.

May 7, 2026, 8:09 PM

The rotating door of LSG

LSG has attempted five opening pairings thus far this season.

Marsh has consistently been there, although Pant, Markram, Badoni, Inglis, and Kulkarni have all been given a chance.

May 7, 2026, 8:33 PM

Finally, the RCB strike

After the rain break, they eventually take a wicket with just two balls. However, it's not the batter they would have preferred. Before tamely chipping one straight to cover off Krunal Pandya, Arshin Kulkarni pottered his way to 17 off 23. Marsh is joined in the centre by Nicholas Pooran. In ten overs, LSG scored 98/1.

May 7, 2026, 8:37 PM

Nicky P in his element

No more than three sighs have been required. With two stunning cover drives off Rasikh Dar that penetrate two distinct arcs, he is up and running right away. The first one is hit towards deep cover point, to the left of the fielder. The second is hit more in the direction of broad long-off. He struck a 21-ball 63 in the last game, LSG 109/1 in 11 overs, and it appears that he is continuing where he left off.

May 7, 2026, 8:44 PM

The third over of Hazlewood's pistol

One, one, one, one, one

It appears that he has discovered some reverse swing. And he denied Marsh with three outstanding yorkers. In 12 overs, LSG 115/1.

May 7, 2026, 8:51 PM

Marsh hits a tonne off 49 balls

In the 14th, Marsh hits Romario Shepherd for three fours to reach a century off 49 balls. He's lined them up for 230 once more, but the charge from 50 to 100 has been a little slower. He hits a flat hit over extra cover for six to end the over.

May 7, 2026, 9:26 PM

At 10 p.m., play will resume.

At 9:23 p.m., the players were removed for the third time this inning. At 10 p.m., play is scheduled to resume. Each side will now play 19 overs. Therefore, we anticipate finishing well after midnight. The mopping has just been completed, and the covers are off. In 14 overs, LSG will resume at 145/1.

May 7, 2026, 9:40 PM

LSG is headed for 200, but will that be sufficient?

Devdutt Padikkal's difficult attempt to run in from the long-on boundary off Bhuvneshwar Kumar gives Marsh a respite on 110. Since the restart, LSG has scored 20 runs in two wicketless overs. In 16 overs, they are 165/1.

Although they have batted effectively, they seem to be falling short of their desired level.

May 7, 2026, 9:47 PM

RCB is not charged for the reprieve

Before he scythes a low full toss straight to Jacob Bethell off Hazlewood's final over, the 17th, Marsh adds just one run, which they got thanks to Padikkal's drop. For 111, he is out.

As soon as he enters, Rishabh Pant hits two fours in his first three deliveries. The second was classic Pant: the ball was wide of point for four, the bat sailed to square leg, and the swing was free. He hits a six wide of long-off to end the over. Hazlewood's four overs have cost 49, and he is done for the evening.

In 17 overs, LSG 183/2.

Pant cameo helps LSG finish

1 W 1 4 4 6

Rasikh's final over is destroyed, and Pant scores 32 not out of 10. After the rain break, LSG scored 64 runs in the last five games. In 19 overs, RCB needs 210. RCB's DLS-adjusted goal is 213.

May 7, 2026, 10:16 PM

Bethell is still on a lean run

Jacob Bethell is out for four once more after scores of 14, 20, and 5. This time, he slices a catch to square third man off Mohammed Shami as LSG attacks early. In the first over, RCB 9/1.

May 7, 2026, 10:20 PM

Prince B. King

Only Prince Yadav, of course. And that must be one of the tournament's best balls to date. Kohli tentatively pokes beyond the line, only to watch it whistle past the inside edge and slam into middle and off. The length is hard and jagged back in sharply. Early on, RCB dominated: 9/2 in the second over. Kohli is zero.

By the way, this is Kohli's first IPL duck since 2023.

May 7, 2026, 10:32 PM

The thunderbolts of Mayank Yadav

150 Mayank Yadav's first delivery to Padikkal was read by the speed gun.

RCB is struggling at 26/2 in four overs, and his average pace in his opening over, which went for just six, was roughly 145 kph.

May 7, 2026, 10:47 PM

Patidar is lifted by spin

He was bouncing and poking at Mayank and Shami's thunderbolts, but the moment he saw spin, he was totally freed. Digvesh Rathi bowled long hops twice in the over, both of which were brutally dismissed. A magnificent pull over deep midwicket for six is followed by an incredibly well-placed cut that splits short third and backwards point. In seven overs, RCB scored 60/2.

May 7, 2026, 10:58 PM

To the cleaners, Rathi

4 0 1 6 0 6

86/2 in nine, RCB is in motion. Patidar struck a 383 after scoring 23 off six deliveries from Rathi. He is on 45 off 25.

May 7, 2026, 11:01 PM

RaPa gets going

Patidar took 26 balls to reach a half-century. gets there by hitting a six off Mayank Yadav with a pick-up shot off his hip.

May 7, 2026, 11:12 PM

The prince who made the final decision?

W 0 1 1 W 1

Padikkal chips one back for a straightforward return catch with a split-finger toss that clings onto the surface a little. Then, as Jitesh looks to pull, he rushes into the pitch at full speed, surprising him with the bounce. The top-edge lands securely in Pant's gloves. With 107/4 in 11 overs, RCB's wheels are going off.

May 7, 2026, 11:31 PM

Patidar gone, and RCB as well?

The six-fest has ended. In the end, he gives Shahbaz Ahmed a wicket with a long-hop that goes clean down long-off's neck. Tim David and Krunal Pandya are now in the middle, but the asking price has increased dramatically. RCB now has to score 80 points in the final five.

May 7, 2026, 11:45 PM

Krunal ignites the RCB's pursuit

1 0 0 1 6 6

Shami is pummelling to various arcs on the leg-side boundary after going short. RCB requires 33 out of 12.

May 7, 2026, 11:53 PM

LSG wins because Rathi maintains his composure

Early in the over, Shepherd needed two sixes, but Rathi goes 1, 1, 0 instead.

That must be it. LSG is undoubtedly in control of the game.

Do they have faith?

They do, indeed. To force a Super over, Shepherd had to hit two sixes off the final two. He is limited to a score of three. Thus, LSG ends a skid of six straight defeats with a victory of nine runs.
