GT vs. RR Live Score, IPL 2026: Royals win thanks to Deshpande and Archer

Apr 4, 2026, 11:28 PM

For RR, Deshpande prevails

Despite going against the trend by opting to bat in a Twenty20 match, the Rajasthan Royals prevailed because two of their spinners were able to rise above a flat surface. With Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada at the crease, the Gujarat Titans lost six wickets during a 27-ball span.

Dhruv Jurel flays one through the off side

Thirty off three overs was the formula. Rabada used this as an opportunity to show off his undiscovered batting prowess, smashing Sandeep Sharma, one of RR's bankers at the end, and Ravi Bishnoi, the finest bowler in the tournament, for some outstanding straight knocks. In the end, they required just over a run per ball. But they were unable to reach 15 off 12. Tushar Deshpande's yorker after yorker after yorker and Jofra Archer's targeting of Rabada's body and Rashid's toes prevented them from reaching their destination. Ultimately, their efforts were equal to those of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, who had scored half-centuries earlier in the evening to reach 210 for 6.

GT need 11 out of 6

1 0 1 1 0 1b

Deshpande has ten runs to defend thanks to Archer. Excellent penultimate in which he entered Rabada's body to prevent him from using his long levers and attacked Rashid's blockhole.

Apr 4, 2026, 11:11 PM

GT need 15 off of two

Kagiso Rabada is engaging in some truly amazing activities. In the 18th over, he brought the equation down to run a ball by launching Sandeep Sharma right down the ground. You have to admit that GT is once again a fave. Jofra Archer is shown here with the penultimate over. He'll be moving quickly. Behind square, Rashid will be searching for runs.

Apr 4, 2026, 11:06 PM

GT need 30 off of three

  1. On the board, they have 181.
  2. However, they are seven down.
  3. There's still Rashid. He also has a talent for drawing boundaries.
  4. He's playing some excellent shots with his partner, Rabada.
  5. Perhaps this story has a twist.

The Titans' decline

Rashid Khan and Shahrukh Khan recently got involved and discovered the truth. In the deep, they fight Jadeja's arm. Who carries that out? He must toss from extra cover to the keeper's end. That's a long way. He still manages to get it in there in time, though.

Six wickets have fallen in the last 27 balls.

Apr 4, 2026, 10:45 PM

The influence of Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi's six balls in the thirteenth over increased RR's chances of winning by thirty percent. It increased to 66.95 from 35.97.

Buttler is no longer with us either. Burger enters the game, and the GT hitter holes out to a deep fine with his short ball.

Apr 4, 2026, 10:36 PM

Phillips has left

In men's Twenty20 cricket, Ravi Bishnoi has taken 200 wickets. He is the youngest Indian to reach that age, at 25.

The Titans will now be extremely dependent on Jos Buttler and very optimistic that Washington Sundar, Rashid Khan, and Rahul Tewatia will be able to contribute with brief appearances. They are still 55% favourites, according to ESPNcricinfo's forecaster. 84 off 47 is the equation.

Check that out, Washington is no longer there, and Bishnoi has altered the course of events.

Tewatia is currently in. He had previously saved a few from the flames. Shahrukh Khan is probably going to be GT's Impact substitute.

Buttler at maximum speed

When Sai Sudharsan was removed in the eleventh over, RR may have believed they had the upper hand. But have a look at what Jos Buttler has done to them.

Apr 4, 2026, 10:28 PM

Bishnoi strikes

Sai Sudharsan, GT's best scorer, is dismissed by an impact player after falling for 73 to a long hop. Perhaps he was just a bit more cramped than he anticipated, and the ball stayed in the pitch a little longer than it should have, taking the bat's toe as he drew it.

Apr 4, 2026, 10:26 PM

GT favourites

At the tenth over, they are six runs ahead of RR.

Although Jos Buttler hasn't been playing at his best, his experience will be crucial as the pursuit intensifies. It's also important to note that the pitch is still excellent for batting. Despite their middle order problem, GT just needs to play properly and advance the game.

Apr 4, 2026, 10:11 PM

Fifty Sai Sudharsan

It goes without saying that Sai Sudharsan doesn't score runs quickly. However, he is only one ball behind Yashasvi Jaiswal (33 vs. 32), who is known for being a dasher even in red-ball cricket. In thirty balls, Jurel reached his fifty. It demonstrates both the favourable batting circumstances and the variety of methods to skin a cat.

However, Sai Sudharsan loses his companion. Curiously, the catch that Shimron Hetmyer makes on the long-on boundary is identical to the one that Mohammed Siraj lost off Dhruv Jurel earlier in the innings. Kumar Kushagra is gone trying to clear the boundary off Riyan Parag. The fielder was being pushed back over the rope by it. Hetmyer managed to catch the ball, reverse cup toss it back infield, and then catch it once more. Siraj made the catch, but his infield-intended toss was unsuccessful. The ball bounced over the boundary boards and behind him.

Apr 4, 2026, 9:58 PM

Titans maintaining their pace

The way Sai Sudharsan and Kumar Kushagra, making their franchise debut, are handling this pursuit with such composure is unsettling. Shubman Gill would normally be playing right now, but he is sidelined due to spasms in his muscles. GT was all about the top three last season. They still don't seem to have fully solved that problem, and it might come back to haunt them. Such a disadvantage impacts the squad as a whole. There hasn't been much indication that it has affected Sudharsan or Kushagra over the opening four overs of this chase.

4 0 0 0 0 1

Tushar Deshpande's fifth over is a masterpiece. Beautiful shifts in speed. There is no width available. striking hard lengths. and heading to New Yorkers early.

Apr 4, 2026, 9:21 PM

For six, RR makes 210

The Rajasthan Royals have reached 210 for 6 thanks to Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiwal. The Gujarat Titans' best chase from the previous season was 205 for 0. Even decent balls were being hammered for boundaries in Ahmedabad because of the great batting conditions. The Titans are missing Gill due to a muscular spasm, but the game is still ongoing. They will probably be affected by that right now.

Apr 4, 2026, 9:03 PM

Fifty Jurel

He scored 11 out of 12. He uses 30 to reach 50. Additionally, there were a few unique strokes, like a back foot half flip half pull shot for four against Rashid Khan and an on-the-up extra cover drive to a 146 kph ball from Ashok Sharma that nearly went for six. For all intents and purposes, the ball was speeding on the batter, but Jurel's excellent hands allowed him to react and force it away through midwicket.

Apr 4, 2026, 8:55 PM

Siraj gets better

With 39 runs in three overs, Siraj has had a difficult day with the ball. However, he demonstrates that he is still up for the challenge by making an incredible long-on catch. Hetmyer hits it hard even if it comes flat because he knocks it off the bottom of the bat. Siraj must swiftly shift to his left, dive, and emerge with both hands beneath the ball. In the past, he was awkward in the field. He was once hidden at Fine Leg in India. He was in a hot situation with GT at long-on, and he made a catch worthy of that.

After taking the wicket, Ashok Sharma bowls the second-fastest ball in the IPL to date—150.7 kph. Earlier, Anrich Nortje bowled at 150.9 kph. He finishes the over at 154.2 kph, which is officially the fastest ball of the 2026 Indian Premier League.

Apr 4, 2026, 8:50 PM

The zip of Rashid

It appears like Rashid has recovered his zip off the wicket. The GT captain would have finished with an even better economy rate than 9.75 if it weren't for a six off the second ball, a unique hit from Jurel that allowed him to walk down the track, which is extremely difficult to accomplish against Rashid given how swiftly he bowls. It's good work when runs are running at almost eleven. might possibly make the difference if GT gets out to a strong start in the chase.

During the previous two seasons, Rashid was unable to play due to an injury. He appeared to be attacking the crease in this instance, and his speeds were between 88 and 96 kph. The Titans have good news. Fans of Rashid have good news.

Parag is no longer with us. The speed gun indicates that Prasidh's ball is travelling at 142 kph, but the wicket exhibits all the characteristics of a slower ball. The batter entered the shot too soon. The ball is trapped in the field. kicking up too. landing in the point's hands after leaving the high portion of the bat.

Hetmyer emerges and responds to the query. Yes, a wicket has been taken, but it is only significant if the new batsman has trouble. There won't be a change in momentum if he smacks two sixes in his first four balls. The wickets are merely incidental. However, GT lost out on a wicket. Hetmyer's initial ball was gloved to the keeper. Phillips was positive there was a sound. Buttler wasn't as certain, so GT didn't examine

Apr 4, 2026, 8:34 PM

The Jaiswal Falls

Jaiswal has left. 55 out of 36. He makes a bit too much room shortly after scooping a boundary, and Rabada clean bowls him. When you have eight wickets and less than eight overs remaining in the innings, you can do that. Because dangers are no longer as important. You won't be bowled out. However, if you persevere, you might receive 230–240. The rookie batter, Riyan Parag, demonstrates this reasoning when he hits his first ball for six.

Because of Parag's aggressiveness, Forecaster has risen following Jaiswal's wicket (210 to 214 at the end of the over).

Apr 4, 2026, 8:31 PM

Check-in with the forecaster

  • The Royals defeated CSK by scoring 128 in 12.1 overs.
  • Today, they are 122 for 1 in 12 overs.
  • The Titans won't have Gill, so that will require some pursuit.
Apr 4, 2026, 8:28 PM

Fifty Jaiswal

Jaiswal has scored more than 18, 50 runs, including two hundreds in the IPL.

One of those athletes who may feel unfairly excluded from the national squad due to India's superior strength. With the traditional shots, Jaiswal is unique. Siraj, who hits just behind a length but is still forced off the front foot for four into further cover, helps him reach fifty. Despite having very little space, he can still use the bottom hand to generate power. He demonstrates later in the over that he has been practicing weird shots as well, attempting the scoop but failing.

Apr 4, 2026, 8:22 PM

Ashok is once again amazing

Ashok Sharma recovers from an early boundary in the over once more.

0 4 0 0 1 0

It is impossible to avoid the early limit. The pitch is excellent. Jurel has just joined the crease. However, he made the night's best shot—a front foot, on-up, extra cover drive to a ball that is just inches from being six and is unquestionably not full. That is only possible if you have faith in the bounce and tempo. The ball had a speed of 146 kph.

Ashok accelerated his speed. 149 miles per hour. He beat Jaiswal for pace and cramped him from around the stumps before hitting him in the body. Dale Steyn referred to his action as "poetry in motion."

Apr 4, 2026, 8:15 PM

Early New Yorkers

Stephen Fleming recently claimed that since every hitter in Twenty20 cricket aims to hit sixes, there is no longer such thing as a finisher.

This could indicate that all 20 overs have become death overs, and bowlers should start practicing yorkers, slower balls, and other techniques a little earlier.

0 0 1 0 1 4

After his first over went for twelve, Prasidh Krishna's eighth over of the innings was his comeback. First ball, he tried a yorker. Jaiswal nearly dragged the third ball back onto his stumps, but he smacked the yorker. He also concluded with a yorker, but Jaiswal's hand-eye coordination is so good that he backs away, lands an open face down, and knocks it to the backward point boundary.

It brought to recall Gaikwad being bowled by Archer after making room. The only distinction was that Jaiswal was steady and balanced. Gaikwad was moving.

Apr 4, 2026, 8:08 PM

Rashid attacks

The field accelerates. Come on, Rashid. Sooryavanshi never stops pushing the envelope. He is chosen because of this. He's so good because of it. It's improbable that he will alter his strategy. He might just respond, "No, I'll just work on executing it better," if you ask him if he would have played a different shot now that he knows it takes him out.

Nevertheless, GT did a good job. Rashid entered. On the leg side, he had the large border. So instead of going goofy, he went legbreak. Phillips was on the large boundary at midwicket as well. Bowling to his field disadvantages the hitter and is a well-planned wicket. A timely one as well

Apr 4, 2026, 8:03 PM

Flows

So far in this opening partnership, three balls have been used for each boundary. Sooryavanshi (5x4 and 1x6) and Jaiswal (3x4s, 3x6s) have performed admirably.

It was difficult to believe some of those shots, such as Sooryavanshi hitting Rabada over point for four, Jaiswal pulling Rabada for six despite being cramped up, and Jaiswal hitting Prasidh Krishna for a front foot six down the ground to a back of a length ball. These shots indicate that the ball is coming onto the bat and the batters can trust the bounce. Even nice balls are soaring because of this.

Apr 4, 2026, 7:58 PM

Ashok Sharma is outstanding.

Ashok Sharma hits a ball at 148.6 kph to end his opening over.

His first delivery could have been a wicket, which is the most impressive aspect of it all. It was a four instead. He hit a six with his second. Given how inexperienced he is at this level of cricket, his recuperation was excellent.

4 6 1 0 2 0

He started by denying the batter space to release their arms. Second, he backed himself to execute his yorker, which was that 148 kph delivery, and his bouncer, which left Jaiswal on his ass.

Apr 4, 2026, 7:53 PM

Better batting, better bowling

From Rabada's hand, the ball is flying through. He just took one wicket the previous season. Dale Steyn discussed the possibility that he had lost his yorker. In the powerplay, he has already mastered a few. He hit the deck without providing much space for the arms to be released, which is essential for that length to be effective.

However, it appears that Jaiswal and Sooryavanshi have recognised that even with good balls, there are runs on this ground. In the previous game, Sooryavanshi went back foot against Matt Henry, but this time he blasted Rabada over point off the front foot. Rabada appeared uncomfortable throughout the shot, but Jaiswal pulled him for six.

It was possible to run Sooryavanshi out for eighteen. Additionally, he could have been caught for 19 when Buttler once more made a really difficult grab, this time with a thick outside edge playing the cut shot that required the keeper to dive all the way to his left. Buttler applied his fingertips to it.

Apr 4, 2026, 7:43 PM

Siraj issues

Mohammed Siraj is having trouble with rhythm. He was too leg side against Sooryavanshi in the first over.

1 4 0 4 1 0

He overcorrected and went too far off side in the second over against Jaiswal, a different batsman.

6 4 1w 0 4 0 0

These 12 balls demonstrate how difficult it is for a bowler, especially one with Siraj's level of skill, to get it just right. Because he will be destroyed if he doesn't

In that over, Jaiswal also dropped by Buttler on 16. With the ball dying on him, he made a difficult catch by diving to his right. Given that Jaiswal was attempting a pull shot, he may not have anticipated the ball to come so near to him.

Apr 4, 2026, 7:37 PM

Turn increase the top power

Together, Sooryavanshi and Jaiswal scored 510 runs in the IPL. Just 246 balls have been required. In just nine innings, they have 145 partnerships.

Apr 4, 2026, 7:03 PM

Toss: GT doesn't have a Gill

Riyan Parag became the first IPL captain this season to opt to bat first after Rajasthan Royals won the toss. In T20, teams typically prefer to chase, and Ahmedabad is no exception. At the toss, the Gujarat Titans announced some significant news: Shubman Gill would not be playing due to a muscular spasm.

Instead, GT is captained by Rashid Khan. Gill has been replaced by 21-year-old Kumar Kushagra. After playing four games with the Delhi Capitals in 2024, he made his Titans debut. Gill was seen receiving bandages around her neck and shoulder in broadcast footage. During the 2025–2026 home Test season, Gill experienced neck spasms. It's unknown if the injury has returned.

RR has made a few adjustments. According to Parag, Shubham Dubey will replace Ravi Bishnoi and Tushar Deshpande will replace Brijesh Sharma. However, when RR bowls, Bishnoi might be the Impact substitute. RR defeated CSK in their season-opening match, while GT was defeated by Punjab Kings.

Rajasthan Royals: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Riyan Parag (capt), Shimron Hetmyer, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma

RR bench: Ravi Singh, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Shubham Dubey, Brijesh Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi

Gujarat Titans: Kumar Kushagra, B Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wk), Washington Sundar, Glenn Phillips, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan (capt), Kagiso Rabada, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Ashok Sharma

GT bench: Shahrukh Khan, Jason Holder, Manav Suthar, Anuj Rawat, Jayant Yadav
