MI vs. RCB Live Score, IPL 2026: After spinners hamper MI in a chase of 241, RCB aims for a significant victory.

Apr 13, 2026, 12:01 AM

RCB's impressive defence

We're not simply talking about the score. With three victories in their first four games, they are thus successfully defending their crown. They are only ahead of RR and PBKS on the table, but eventually they will have a rough night. Here's a sneak peek at our final report. I'll see you tomorrow.

In night games at Wankhede Stadium, where a real flat surface and dew give the chasing team a big advantage, the toss is vital. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the reigning champs, lost that toss. went ahead and completed the necessary tasks, including scoring the best IPL total of 240 at the Wankhede and defending it with relative ease.

Krunal Pandya strikes for RCB
Krunal pandya strike's for RCB

Rajat Patidar's quickest fifty, 53 off 20, and Phil Salt's 78 off 36 put RCB ahead. Each of the two struck a hat-trick of sixes, and Salt took three consecutive fours once. At the Mumbai Indians' home stadium, 11 sixes and 10 fours sailed off their bats, prompting RCB cheers. They made up for Virat Kohli, who appeared dissatisfied with his 50 off 38 even though the other end continued to score large runs.

Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya, the spinners, skilfully stopped the pursuit in the second half of the game, so Kohli didn't have to worry much from the sidelines. While Krunal bowled four overs for just 26 runs and was rewarded justly with the scalp of Suryakumar Yadav, Suyash achieved this by taking out the rampaging Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma in his first over. In contrast to MI's two spinners, who gave up 83 in six overs, the RCB spinners bowled eight overs for 73 runs and three significant wickets.

Hardik Pandya is dissatisfied with his bowling

The captain of the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya, brings up his team's bowling without being asked, stating that it is always catch-up when your bowlers go for as many 20-run overs as they did. He adds that even though they have won the toss thus far, they have lost three straight games, so they may need to reconsider their strategy of always chasing.

Apr 12, 2026, 11:54 PM

Rutherford restricts damage from NRR

6 1w 0 6 0 1w 6 6

With a barrage of sixes against fellow West Indies star Romario Shepherd, Sherfane Rutherford finished with 71 off 31. However, this merely serves to limit the damage to their net run rate. Other than that, RCB won by a margin of 18 runs.

Apr 12, 2026, 11:40 PM

Rutherford battles, but RCB hopes to win big

Sherfane Rutherford has reached 41 off 21 with five sixes after being dismissed by Romario Shepherd's no-ball, but MI still needs 53 off the final two overs.

Apr 12, 2026, 11:09 PM

Hardik Pandya is acquired by Duffy

Hardik Pandya must swing at everything due to the extreme strain of the asking rate. When Jacob Duffy returns, he primarily deals with slower balls. The thick edge for the catch at deep point is eventually obtained by a wide full slower one. 40 off of 23 is gone. MI need precisely three balls each ball: 96 off 32.

Apr 12, 2026, 11:00 PM

4-0-26-1 Krunal

Krunal Pandya has virtually destroyed the chase in a 240 match at Wankhede Stadium with his combination of bouncers, fast deliveries, and the occasional slow flighted delivery. When the opposition needs two runs, just 26 runs off 24 will undoubtedly change the course of the match. Thus, it has taken place. For the final seven overs, MI needs about three balls per ball.

Apr 12, 2026, 10:57 PM

RCB's Krunal Pandya scores

In a high-scoring match, Krunal Pandya is having yet another fantastic day with the ball. He maintains a fast pace against his brother Hardik Pandya, but he completely calms down and catches Suryakumar Yadav on the sweep. Yadav's innings of 33 off 22 is below average for this game. MI needs 120 off 46 and is 121 for 3. The Impact Player is Sherfane Rutherford.

Apr 12, 2026, 10:47 PM

Mumbai Indians are virtually out of it

4 4 0 1 4 1 4 0 4 0 1 0

The tenth and eleventh overs are these. RCB's net gain from these. MI might be eliminated from this game with just one terrible over. They require 133 out of 54.

Apr 12, 2026, 10:39 PM

Pandya versus Pandya

It's friendly fire time, and it's flaming. The second ball that Krunal Pandya bowls to his brother Hardik Pandya is a bouncer. In a match when the average score is 12 runs per over, he has sneaked through three overs for just 21 runs. MI now requires 156 off 66 balls. They are forced to keep moving forward.

Apr 12, 2026, 10:28 PM

Suyash Sharma, welcome

Suyash Sharma's incorrect first up alters the tone of the match. In an attempt to slog-sweep, Ryan Rickelton gets a top edge on the googly and is caught at short third. RCB currently has the lead after going for 37 off 22. In 7.1 overs, MI72 for 1.

Give it one more. In his first over, Leggie has two left-handed hitters. Rickelton had a big mistake. He now has Tilak Varma with an incorrect outer leg. The sweep settles with a short, elegant leg after receiving a top edhe. MI 74 for 2 in 7.5 overs.

Apr 12, 2026, 10:18 PM

Retured-hurt is Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is walking off retired-hurt for 19 off 13 due to what appears to be some issues with his right hamstring. In 5.2 overs, the Mumbai Indians are 56 for 0.

Apr 12, 2026, 10:08 PM

Dar leaves a lasting effect

Playing in his first game of the season, Rasikh Dar has somewhat stopped the flow with a superb back-of-the-hand angled-seam slower ball and a precise yorker. In the fourth over, there are only nine. MI 48 for 0 out of 4.

Apr 12, 2026, 10:02 PM

Rickelton starts MI

With sixes from Jacob Duffy and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the opening two overs, Ryan Rickelton has put the Mumbai Indians on a fast start. In the third over, Rohit Sharma adds his own. In three overs, MI is 39 for 0. Here, every indication points to a humdinger.

Apr 12, 2026, 9:50 PM

Bat argument

There has been some debate between Rohit Sharma and the authorities when it appears like the umpires randomly tested his bat near the boundary edge. We are finally moving forward with Rasikh Dar joining RCB as the Impact Player; I'm not sure whether he has been asked to alter it for illegal dimensions.

After a few unsuccessful efforts to get the bat through the gauge, Rohit requested another bat. Tilak Varma intervened as well, and they managed to get it through the gauge. It appears that he was permitted to keep the original bat.

Apr 12, 2026, 9:36 PM

David delivers the final kick to propel RCB to 240

Even though Trent Boult and Japsrit Bumrah bowl excellent 19th and 20th overs, Tim David still finds a way to score 34 off 16, bringing RCB to 240, or two runs per ball. They stayed close to that pace the entire inning. RCB's aggressive fifties were built up by Phil Salt and Rajat Patidar. Once again, Japsrit Bumrah was outstanding, scoring just 35 runs off his four overs despite playing two overs during the powerplay and two at the end. Hardik Pandya, who scored 39 in his four, also performed admirably. Can the Mumbai Indians pursue this? We'll find out soon.

Apr 12, 2026, 9:28 PM

4-0-35-0 Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah has now gone five straight IPL games—including the final game of the previous year—without taking a wicket, but have a look at his economy: less than nine runs in an innings while RCB is trying to reach 250. In 19 overs, they are 230 for 3.

Apr 12, 2026, 9:08 PM

Santner receives Patidar

1 1 4 0 1w 0 W

Mitchell Santner produced an incredible comeback to finish with numbers of 4-0-43-1 after being dismissed for 22 in his opening over. As his final effort of the evening, he ends up taking the significant wicket of Rajat Patidar. Throughout his past three overs, he has skilfully altered his pace and angles. His last ovewr is shown above. In fact, Patidar excels at getting under a legitimate yorker and manages to hit it as far as long-on. To his own disadvantage. With two Jasprit Bumrah overs remaining, the score is 194 for 3 in 16 overs.

Apr 12, 2026, 9:04 PM

50 in 17 balls for Patidar

The number of times In less balls than seventeen, Rajat Patidar reached fifty. RCB's outstanding innings has compensated for Virat Kohli's difficulties at the other end. He has been outstanding against pace and has not allowed the spinners to bowl at all. In 15.4 overs, RCB scored 193 for 2.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:55 PM

Kohli's half-century

This fifty came in 37 balls, so it wasn't the most fluid innings. Virat Kohli is not having any festivities. The question of whether he should be retired is up for dispute. That argument is meaningless because Kohli was removed for 50 off 38 after hitting a low full ball straight to long-on. After facing the final 27 balls, he scores 30. RCB 185 for two in 14.4. I'm not sure if this is MI's best wicket.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:47 PM

In a matter of minutes, Thakur transforms from a hero to a philanderer

1w 4 1w 1w 6 1w 1 2 4 2

In two overs, that sums up Shardul Thakur's career. When everything else fails, he steps up, hits wide yorkers, and gets Phil Salt out of the game. Then, in an attempt to bowl length to a new batter, he becomes overly ambitious and collapses in his second over above. Rajat Patidar has shot to 34 off 9 balls while RCB is 167 for 1 in 13 overs.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:40 PM

Patidar takes off right away

After putting in a lot of effort to get Phil Salt out, the Mumbai Indians played some mediocre cricket. Rajat Patidar hit the next batter over mid-off for four off the first ball after Shardul Thakur gave up his wide yorkers for a length ball. The following then took place.

1 6 6 6 0 1

Arguably RCB's best spin batter, Mayank Markande, travelled for three sixes, including a reverse sweep, with his non-turning spin. R-C-B is presently being chanted by the Wankhede. Despite Kohli's efforts for 39 off 30, it is 144 for 1 in 12 overs.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:34 PM

Thakur's broad yorkers are effective

As late as the eleventh over, Shardul Thakur enters the game to bowl for the first time. Wide yorkers were the plans Lasith Malinga had already revealed on the air. The same was recommended by the field. Despite two wide balls, Thakur remained steadfast despite Virat Kohli's knowledge of what was about to happen. After Virat Kohli failed to score quick runs in the middle overs, Phil Salt, hungry of strike, hit a wide full ball straight to extra cover after five runs, including wides, came off the first four deliveries. 78 off 36 is gone. RCB is 120 for 1 in 10.5 overs, while Kohli has 38 off 30.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:11 PM

Markande withdrew his muscles

4 4 4 6 1 1

Phil Salt has ensured that the Mumbai Indians cannot profit from two overs without a boundary. He gets trapped in Mayank Markande's flat trajectory after the seventh, pulling and cutting for three consecutive fours before receiving the wider ball for a six over square leg. This batting is brutal. RCB 95 for 0 in eight overs, Salt 68 off 29.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:09 PM

In dewy Mumbai, Salt Fifty is leading the RCB's charge

Phil Salt reached his fifty in just twenty-five balls after pulling off Mayank Markande's first ball. He has ensured that RCB has used all of the spinners in order to get off to a fairly fast start. Additionally, he has somewhat hogged the strike, which is advantageous for RCB.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:06 PM

Santner's return

0 1 1 0 1 1

Mitchell Santner accomplishes this in the seventh over following the 22-run over, mostly silencing Virat Kohli, who is now 24 off 18 to go with Phil Salt's 49 off 24. After seven overs, it is 75 for 0.

Apr 12, 2026, 8:02 PM

In the powerplay, Bumrah bowls two

The fact that the Mumbai Indians felt compelled to bowl two overs of Jasprit Bumrah within the first six tells you a lot about the start. Runs are coming in rapidly and no wickets have fallen. Bumrah goes boundaryless in the sixth over, which is what they need, but they need more. But when the pitch is empty and the dew is already in, you can only do so much. Bumrah primarily deals in slower and yorkers. With all of their wickets in hand, RCB 71 in the powerplay.

Apr 12, 2026, 7:58 PM

Santner is defeated by salt

Mitchell Santner hardly ever bowls during the powerplay when he is captaining New Zealand. He is required to bowl the fifth over for the Mumbai Indians without taking any wickets. Phil Salt demonstrates why bowling at this time is challenging. He step-hits a sluggish full one for another and pulls his flatter deliveries quickly for sixes. RCB 65 for 0 in five overs, making this the second-most costly over Santner has ever bowled in Twenty20 cricket.

Apr 12, 2026, 7:53 PM

RCB is off to a strong start

In the fourth over, the Mumbai Indians were compelled to unleash Japsrit Bumrah. He hasn't even attempted to stroke the ball. One rapid bouncer, one slower bouncer, and four attempted yorkers. For the single boundary in the over, Virat Kohli is skilled enough to upper-cut the slower bouncer over short third. After four overs, RCB is 43 for 0. Kohli 20 off 11, Phil Salt 22 off 13.

Apr 12, 2026, 7:36 PM

Kohli with a six in the first over

Virat Kohli's flicked six off Trent Boult was his seventh T20 first-over six since 2024. He had only seven throughout his entire career before to that. After one over, RCB is 13 for 0.

Apr 12, 2026, 7:32 PM

A moment dedicated to Asha Bhosle

In remembrance of the renowned singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away earlier in the day, both the sides and the entire stadium have observed a minute of silence. There are black arm bands on both sides. Trent Boult takes the pitch against Virat Kohli and Phil Salt.

Apr 12, 2026, 7:14 PM

Hazlewood loses out on the Mumbai chase

In the night games at the Wankhede Stadium, the toss is usually crucial. The Mumbai Indians won it and, predictably, chose to chase. Mitchell Santner was welcomed back into the starting lineup. He took AM Ghazanfar's post. Mayank Markande was also substituted for Deepak Chahar.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru would have loved to pursue themselves, but they will back themselves against a more manageable batting lineup than any that has Sooryavanshi and Yashavi Jaiswal at the top. They failed to defend 200-plus in their most recent game, but against the rampaging Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

RCB did make one substitution, substituting Jacob Duffy for Josh Hazlewood, who went for 44 in his four in the previous game. The absence of Abhinandan Singh from the list of replacements was the other modification. This increased the likelihood that Rasikh Dar or Mangesh Yadav would enter the defence later that evening.

MI finished seventh in the standings after three games, while RCB finished third.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru 1 Phil Salt, 2 Virat Kohli, 3 Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (capt.), Tim David, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jacob Duffy, Suyash Sharma

Report on a pitch

Both a larger and a smaller limit exist. The two sides are 67 and 61 meters, respectively. Thus, there will be a component of protecting the larger side. Sunil Gavaskar believes the pitch is a little dry due to the intense heat, but he still anticipates a lot of runs. For the upcoming week, Mumbai is under a heatwave alert.

Apr 12, 2026, 6:36 PM

Not in arms, brothers

There is no fraternal love in Mumbai. Here, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya compete against one another. In this friendly fire, sparks typically fly. Krunal has defeated Hardik thus far. He bowled Hardik 31 balls for one wicket and 29 runs. For six runs and no wickets, Hardik has only bowled five runs to Krunal.

Apr 12, 2026, 6:30 PM

massive teams, massive game

How are you doing? Welcome to our live report for this crucial match, which is one of the IPL's top two or three rivalries. These are two of the IPL's initial three major teams. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi recently gave the Mumbai Indians and reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru a crushing defeat. MI is ranked eighth on the table, while RCB is ranked third. Here at Wankhede Stadium, chasing teams typically enjoy a significant advantage. A high-scoring game is probably in store for us.

Apr 12, 2026, 5:47 PM

In the spotlight: David and Boult

Mahela Jayawardene, the head coach of MI, expressed his displeasure with his bowlers' performance with the new ball following the crushing defeat his team suffered against RR. "Yeah, I think we had some plans, but I don't think, being honest, that we ever executed those plans the way we wanted," he replied. After being struck for three sixes in a 22-run over—two half-volleys on the pads and one long hop—and being denied the opportunity to bowl again, Trent Boult had an especially difficult evening. After two months without playing competitive cricket, Boult, aged 36, entered the IPL. He no longer plays international cricket.

Boult hasn't been his best at the beginning of this tournament, both in terms of pace and accuracy, possibly due to this lack of cricket. MI will be hoping that he can soon establish his rhythm, especially as their other powerplay swing bowler, Deepak Chahar, is also looking off-colour.

RCB has been the IPL's fastest-scoring death-overs (17-20) club since the beginning of the 2025 season, averaging 12.42 runs per over during this phase. Compared to MI's firmly mid-table 11.12, that is more than a run per over faster. This might be related to Tim David's transfer from MI to RCB prior to the 2025 IPL. With a strike rate of 236.58 during the last two seasons, David is the IPL's fastest-scoring death-overs batsman (minimum 40 balls faced). Is MI sorry to have let him go? By the end of Sunday evening, David will want to make sure they do.

Super Sunday: RCB travels to Mumbai to play MI

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) both travelled to Guwahati and were defeated by Sooryavanshied in three days. On Sunday night at the Wankhede Stadium, MI and RCB will square off in the hopes of winning and regaining some normalcy, with the scars from those devastating losses to Rajasthan Royals (RR) still fresh.

RCB had won two games prior to facing RR, while MI had a normally sluggish start to the season with just one victory from three games. Although it's still early, some themes may already be starting to emerge.

That one loss appeared to be just that—a loss for RCB. Despite being six down in the eleventh over, they managed to surpass 200 against RR, demonstrating their depth of resources. Even though their bowlers suffered a lot, Josh Hazlewood's return was encouraging in and of itself.

However, MI appears to be having issues. Their assault is overly reliant on Jasprit Bumrah, and their bowlers have battled for both economy and wickets (they have only taken ten in three games thus far). Although their batting lineup consists of well-known, formidable names, it occasionally creates the impression that they are a little behind the times. MI appears to lack some of that modern cutting edge, whereas some other teams have discovered future stars.

However, if you've watched enough IPL, you are aware of how easily claims like that may start to seem premature. They will want to disprove it as soon as possible for the sake of MI.
