LSG vs. DC Live Score, IPL 2026: DC wins a low-scoring match thanks to Rizvi's 70*

Apr 1, 2026, 11:02 PM

With 17 balls left, DC wins.

Rizvi and Stubbs led DC home rather easily in the end, although it looked hairy at one point, with the LSG quicks moving the new ball everywhere and for much longer than you would expect in a T20 match. Rizvi completely controlled LSG's spin overs, which were always going to be crucial. Rizvi ends it with a pulled six off Abdul Samad's part-time spin in a fittingly symbolic manner.

In 2.1 overs, the spinners as a group went for 35. In such a low-scoring match, that's the game.

Apr 1, 2026, 11:01 PM

Nearly finished

1 1 1 4 6 0 0 6 1 5w 0 1 0

Short balls in the 16th and 17th overs ultimately lost Mohsin Khan and Anrich Nortje several runs. You can understand why the LSG quicks were attempting this: attacking lengths are currently their only chance to take wickets, and it hasn't worked for them.

DC only needs three runs now. Stubbs is on 39 off 32 and Rizvi is on 64 off 46.

Apr 1, 2026, 10:47 PM

For Rizvi, fifty

This is a crucial innings for Sameer Rizvi. Despite having Ashutosh Sharma and Karun Nair on their bench, DC trusted him to be their Impact Player. And at first, he had a lot of trouble since LSG's seamers were constantly shifting the ball. At one point, he was on 0 off 9, and after that, he was on 5 off 13.

However, he has formed a crucial alliance with Tristan Stubbs to put DC ahead, and he has taken full advantage of the little spin LSG has bowled. Shahbaz and Markram have only given Rizvi one over each thus far, and in those two overs, Rizvi has struck four fours and a six. Reaches his fifty off 37 balls, which is great considering the conditions of this match.

Sameer Rizvi scored an unbeaten 70 off 47 balls

DC now needs 36 off 36. So far, Stubbs and Rizvi have scored 81 off of 58.

Apr 1, 2026, 10:42 PM

3-1-6-1

Few bowlers in the IPL appear to be as threatening as Mohsin Khan when he is healthy. Sharp enough pace, left-arm angle, movement, and that extra bounce that almost everyone finds problematic.

But there is a big disclaimer: "when he is fit." His first competitive game since... December 31, 2024 is tonight. However, he is in good shape and bowling as if he has never been away—yes, in favourable circumstances, but take a look at those numbers.

Now another over of spin has taken his place. DC needs 49 from 42 balls, and Aiden Markram is bowling the 14th over.

Apr 1, 2026, 10:24 PM

16 runs in excess

2 4 1 1 4 4

This innings' first spin over turns out to be the largest over of the game thus far. Sameer Rizvi takes Shahbaz Ahmed for three fours after he stumbles down leg twice and collapses short once. LSG collapsed with the bat, therefore Shahbaz was brought in as the Impact Player. He did a good job of extending their innings into the 19th over. However, his bowling isn't quite on par with Digvesh Rathi, who would have been the Impact Player in a typical situation.

DC now has to score 65 runs in the final ten overs.

Apr 1, 2026, 10:22 PM

Not yet spinning

Even though Shami has already completed his quota, LSG's four-man pace attack is all pace for the first nine overs. Shami's fourth over comes in the ninth over of DC's innings, and they are actively striving for one more wicket. Anrich Nortje's 13-run eighth over has put the game in the balance. He didn't bowl poorly or anything, but Rizvi, who had been having trouble getting the ball off the square for a long time, hit a clever ramping six off a bouncer. The ball is still in motion: short balls that swung off aim caused Nortje to give up wides.

Shami finishes his over quota for the ninth by being smashed to the cover boundary after beating Tristan Stubbs' outside edge with a peach off his fifth ball. DC now needs 81 off 66 balls after going 61 for 4.

Shahbaz Ahmed arrives. The inning's first indication of spin.

Apr 1, 2026, 10:01 PM

The new ball is still in motion.

Axar was bowled by a Prince ball that didn't seam into him as much as swing late. A ball doing that in the fifth over of a Twenty20 innings is an uncommon sight, but we've witnessed it occur in both innings today.

DC ends their powerplay at 33 for 4 when Mohsin Khan continues to swing it in the sixth over, giving up only three runs, including a leg bye.

Apr 1, 2026, 9:54 PM

Two for two!

The middle ball is a wide, but it's two out of three. Prince Yadav's fullish ball, which angled over Axar Patel from over the wicket and straightened late to cut him in half, is truly amazing. He ends up playing all around it after attempting to flick it away with his feet stuck. DC is in turmoil at 26 for 4 in 4.3 overs, while stumps are in shambles.

Apr 1, 2026, 9:53 PM

Prince attends the gathering

The three quicks who have bowled thus far have all taken wickets, and DC is now three down in the powerplay. Prince Yadav's turn now. Pathum Nissanka, an IPL rookie, top-edges a shortish ball that he tries to fetch from fairly outside of off stump. Outstanding running, diving grab, and sprinting in the direction of the short, fine leg area.

In 4.2 overs, DC is 25 for 3. This game might be far more competitive than we anticipated.

Apr 1, 2026, 9:44 PM

Mohsin puts an end to Rana's battle

When Shami gave width or dipped a bit too short, Nitish Rana scored a four and a six, but other than that, he was scoring a lot against Shami and Prince Yadav. It wasn't the most fluid of debuts for his new squad. Then, in the fourth over, he is out after reaching 15 off 16. Mohsin Khan's left-arm rapid and leaden-footed jab at a hard-length ball. This is the pinnacle of Mohsin. Because LSG has a slip in place to gobble up the edge, you can see that the ball is constantly doing something off the deck when it is back of a length, angling into the corridor, and straightening with extra bounce.

In 3.3 overs, DC is 21 for 2. Now the Impact Player leaves. Ashutosh Sharma and Karun Nair were also on the bench, but Sameer Rizvi enters at number four. T Natarajan has been replaced.

Apr 1, 2026, 9:25 PM

Shami hits the first ball.

It was also the first ball of his LSG career. KL Rahul ends up slicing farther behind square than he would want and is caught at deep backward point despite having a full outswinger, a bit of width, and an opportunity to free the arms and pick up a boundary.

Sampath Bandarupalli: "On five occasions, including once after beginning with a wide, Mohammed Shami has taken a wicket off the first ball of an IPL innings. In the IPL, no other bowler has taken more than three of these wickets.

Apr 1, 2026, 9:08 PM

Ngidi completes it.

With eight balls remaining unused, LSG is bowled out for 141 after the Ngidi slower one takes two more wickets in the 19th over.

Anrich Nortje first loses his shape, clears his front leg, swipes, and slices to long-off. He took his second wicket, and LSG now stands at 141 for 9 in 18.3 overs. Then, in an attempt to create space, Mohsin Khan, who is left-handed, slashes a full one to short third, most likely with a heavy edge.

After 3.4 overs, Ngidi ends with 3 for 27. Three wickets for Natarajan too, and two for Kuldeep, but this was a proper team effort from the DC bowlers. A special thanks to Mukesh Kumar, who scored just 17 runs in three overs during the powerplay.

A weak attempt by LSG. It's not the world's flattest pitch, but it's also not, in my opinion, a 141. Last season, LSG's lineup appeared to be overly top-heavy, and this problem appears to be continuing.

Naturally, Ngidi's slower ball to Nicholas Pooran was the pivotal point of this innings. DC may have cut 20–30 runs off the target they are pursuing.

Apr 1, 2026, 9:06 PM

Samad leaves, and Shami follows.

He struck it too far off, but it was an incredible bullet of a hit. If David Miller hadn't been positioned so straight, this may have been a flat six. wallops the ball directly to the man after stepping outside and reaching the ball's pitch. LSG is 138 for 7 in 17.3 overs, while Samad is out for 36 off 25.

With fifteen balls left, Mohammed Shami enters the game. On the final ball of the over, he slices a low full-toss high to cover point and is out. After four overs, Natarajan ends with 3 for 29.

Apr 1, 2026, 8:48 PM

Samad is moving

Abdul Samad had gotten off to a quiet start, putting up the kind of rebuilding innings for which he is not particularly renowned. He is now lining up T Natarajan. After hanging back to hit a length ball over midwicket for six, he punches the low full-toss down the ground for four to make up for the missed yorker.

With five overs remaining, LSG is 121 for 6, and he is now batting on 29 off 18.

Apr 1, 2026, 8:39 PM

Kuldeep wins his second

In an attempt to move one into the leg side, Mukul Choudhary now shuts his bat face too soon and pops out a return catch off the leading edge. Previously, he had swept Kuldeep fine for four off his first ball in the IPL. Was that the incorrect one? Not in my opinion. A ball that might have stopped on the batter and didn't turn out as planned.

After a sixth-wicket partnership of 34 off 22 balls with Abdul Samad, Mukul is dismissed for 14. In 13.1 overs, LSG is 105 for 6.

Shahbaz Ahmed, an all-rounder who bowls left arm spin, must be brought in as LSG's Impact Player after that wicket. With 6.5 overs left, Mohsin Khan would have been batting at No. 8 else. Mitchell Marsh leaves. Digvesh Rathi will not be bowling tonight.

Apr 1, 2026, 8:23 PM

Kuldeep joins the celebration after five down.

This match is dominated by DC's bowlers. Right now, there isn't much of a contest. At the beginning of this tenth over, Marsh gets a big hit away by slog-sweeping Kuldeep for six. Marsh had laboured on what has appeared to be a slightly two-paced surface. Two balls later, I believe he chooses the incorrect ball and tries to launch over long-off, but he ends up correcting his shot since he is not quite on the ball's pitch. essentially scoops it high in the air, where the fielder can easily grab it.

LSG is 71 for 5 in 9.3 overs, while Marsh is out for 35 off 28.

Apr 1, 2026, 8:16 PM

Pooran is tricked by Ngidi

Lungi Ngidi is an early contender for ball of the season. In the powerplay, he bowled a mediocre opening over, twice giving Marsh too much width and getting slapped away for fours. However, he came back and bowled Pooran an absolute beautiful ball.

We all witnessed the power of Ngidi's slower, dipping ball during the T20 World Cup. He now deliveries one that Pooran is utterly unable to pick up, angling into the stumps from around the wicket. He tries to flick too early, recognises too late that the ball hasn't arrived, and is unable to make the necessary adjustments in time to hit the ball.

LSG is 65 for 4 in 8.5 overs, while Pooran b Ngidi 8.

And with another slower dipping, Ngidi almost scores another. It slips past Abdul Samad's inner edge and strikes his pad as he reaches well in front of him in an attempt to pull it away, but it is comfortably missing the leg stump. DC wasted a review on it.

Apr 1, 2026, 8:16 PM

LSG's batting order's knock-on effects

I believe it was a smart move for LSG to start with Pant and Marsh, but after Pant was first out, they had a right-right combination when they sent in Markram at No. 3, which gave Axar two powerplay overs. Even after he fired Markram, Ayush Badoni—rather than Nicholas Pooran—took over, adding another right-right duo. Axar probably would have bowled a third consecutive over if Badoni had survived Natarajan's seventh over. With Pant and Pooran in the LSG lineup, DC might have been concerned about Axar's overallocation, therefore that would have been a perfect scenario.

Apr 1, 2026, 8:05 PM

Natarajan scores after three down.

LSG is 49 for 3 in the seventh over as Ayush Badoni comes and departs. Badoni tries to release his arms and slap the ball over mid-off or cover, but it's only a regulation-length ball slanting away from off stump. ends up giving the keeper an outside edge.

LSG's most dangerous player, Nicholas Pooran, enters at number five.

Apr 1, 2026, 8:02 PM

Axar attacks

Axar entered the game against the two right-handers as soon as Pant was removed. Additionally, he keeps himself on for a second over during the powerplay after bowling that fourth over.

Additionally, he has a significant influence on trademark fashion. He spotted the ball a little shorter after Markram had just lofted him for a straight six. Although it appeared to be an overcorrection and a chance to cut, Axar's trajectory is frequently misleading due to the lift he receives, and he ends up pitching fuller than you may anticipate. Additionally, he frequently cramps batters on the cut because to his lack of turn, skiddiness, and the large angle he creates from wide of the crease. Markram is bowled and off of position for the shot.

With the head-to-head, Shiva Jayaraman adds: "Markram has now been dismissed in 40 balls against Axar, scoring 49 runs." In any case, he hasn't been very reliable against left-arm spin lately."
At 48 for 2, DC ends the powerplay.

Apr 1, 2026, 7:57 PM

3-0-17-0

In the powerplay, Mukesh Kumar bowled three overs at less than a run per ball. He's been getting the new ball to swing little and nibble slightly off the seam, and he's been really careful not to offer breadth or drop short, especially to Marsh, with whom he's bowled a lot. So far, the display is excellent.

LSG is 37 for 1 after five overs.

Apr 1, 2026, 7:48 PM

Pant's unfortunate dismissal

Mitchell Marsh might have punched a full ball from Mukesh Kumar back down the pitch after being caught and bowled. The non-striker is dismissed, resulting in a run-out. Mukesh extends his right hand in an attempt to catch it, but he is only able to divert it slightly off the side of his hand and hit the stumps at his end with Pant out of his ground.

Pant is out for seven off nine, and LSG are 19 for one in three overs.

At number three is Aiden Markram. There is no indication that the left-right pairs will continue with a flexible batting order.

Apr 1, 2026, 7:30 PM

Pant at the top

We wanted to know who would bat at three today, Pant or Pooran. One of them, Pant, is opening the batting alongside Mitchell Marsh, so the solution to that question is still pending. Aiden Markram goes down the order as a result. In order for LSG to maintain a left-right duo at the crease, will Nos. 3 and 4 rely on who gets out?

Apr 1, 2026, 7:01 PM

Nabi is on the Impact bench, and DC bowls and selects four debutants.

Delhi Capitals choose to bowl against the Lucknow Super Giants.

In their opening IPL 2026 match at Ekana against the Lucknow Super Giants, the Delhi Capitals (DC) have chosen to bowl first. On a red-soil surface, Axar Patel, the captain of DC and the first away captain to win a toss this season, anticipated some early assistance for the fast bowlers.

Pathum Nissanka, David Miller, who played for LSG the previous season, and Lungi Ngidi comprise three of the four foreign players in DC's starting lineup, while Nitish Rana makes his maiden appearance for his home team.

Auqib Nabi, a seamer from Jammu & Kashmir, is on the Impact Player bench but does not start for DC. However, he doesn't look likely to get a game because DC is bowling first; the two hitters most likely to play are Ashutosh Sharma and Karun Nair.

Anrich Nortje, who played for KKR last year after spending five seasons at DC, makes his LSG debut. The other three are Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, and Aiden Markram, who make up their regular top-order engine room.

The express speedy Mayank Yadav was left off of LSG's starting lineup and substitutes bench, just one day after head coach Justin Langer declared he was fit to play. The speed attack consists of Nortje, Prince Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Mohammed Shami. Mukul Choudhary, a keeper-batter from Rajasthan, makes his IPL debut. Langer believes he might be the "scariest No. 6 or No. 7 batter in India."

Digvesh Rathi, a mystery spinner, is probably going to make an appearance for LSG off the bench.

Lucknow Super Giants: 1 Aiden Markram, 2 Mitchell Marsh, 3 Rishabh Pant (capt & wk), 4 Ayush Badoni, 5 Nicholas Pooran, 6 Abdul Samad, 7 Mukul Choudhary, 8 Mohsin Khan, 9 Mohammed Shami, 10 Anrich Nortje, 11 Prince Yadav.

Impact subs bench: Digvesh Rathi, Avesh Khan, Himmat Singh, Shahbaz Ahmed, Akshat Raghuvanshi.

Delhi Capitals: 1 KL Rahul (wk), 2 Pathum Nissanka, 3 Nitish Rana, 4 Vipraj Nigam, 5 Axar Patel (capt), 6 David Miller, 7 Tristan Stubbs, 8 Lungi Ngidi, 9 Kuldeep Yadav, 10 T Natarajan, 11 Mukesh Kumar.

Impact subs bench: Ashutosh Sharma, Auqib Nabi, Sameer Rizvi, Dushmantha Chameera, Karun Nair.

Apr 1, 2026, 6:54 PM

At Ekana, asymmetry

The location of Pitch No. 4 is not exactly in the middle. Depending on which end the bowling is coming from, the square borders are 63/64 meters on one side and 57/56 meters on the other.

Apr 1, 2026, 6:39 PM

DC has three new hats

Tonight, three foreign players make their DC debuts. Lungi Ngidi, David Miller, and Pathum Nissanka have all been awarded their caps. Naturally, Miller played for LSG the previous season.

Apr 1, 2026, 6:31 PM

Can the mismatch be fixed by LSG?

Last season, LSG had one of the worst-performing middle orders (4-7) and one of the best-performing top threes in the league (Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, and Nicholas Pooran had outstanding seasons, and Rishabh Pant concluded an otherwise awful season with a century from No. 3). This season, is it possible for them to be less top-heavy?

And who will bat for them at number three, Pant or Pooran?

Apr 1, 2026, 6:07 PM

Two teams remain after eight teams were defeated

Hi there, hi there. The final two teams that have not yet begun their campaigns will do so tonight in Lucknow in match five of the 2026 Indian Premier League. Both clubs want to improve on their subpar 2025 campaigns. There is a lot of curiosity in both teams' domestic pace options, especially Auqib Nabi, who ignited the Ranji Trophy, and Mayank Yadav, an express quick who hasn't played since February but is fit to start tonight. There should be plenty of bounce and carryover available because they will be working on a red-soil pitch at Ekana tonight.

In the IPL since 2024, spinners have averaged 27.4 and given up 9.35 runs per over on this specific pitch (pitch No. 4), while quicks have averaged 17.6 and 9.51. There hasn't been much to discern between the two types in terms of economy, and fast bowlers have taken wickets here.

Apr 1, 2026, 5:36 PM

No filters, no fear

Occasionally, a rookie enters the IPL and leaves a lasting impression. Digvesh Rathi was that rookie from the previous season. You may be forgiven for believing that his attitude or the festivities were what set him apart. Rather, it was his abilities—the stump-to-stump line, the googly and the carrom ball—that really made a difference.

The LSG spinner discusses playing on the biggest platform, his aggressive style of cricket, his devotion to his team, and other topics. See Digvesh Rathi's afeature by Sreshth Shah.

Apr 1, 2026, 5:09 PM

The chant of Auqib Nabi

The best thing about Auqib Nabi is his balance. This may be the reason he decided to stealthily dodge the commotion on the day of the IPL 2026 super auction when he signed an INR 8.4 crore agreement with Delhi Capitals (DC). Nabi was careful not to annoy his Baramulla neighbours.

The new player for the Delhi Capitals is talented, self-aware, and unaffected by the expectations going into the 2026 Indian Premier League. This is Shashank Kishore's Auqib Nabi feature.

Apr 1, 2026, 4:23 PM

All eyes are on Mayank's return to fitness.

In the 2024 Indian Premier League, Mayank Yadav shot to fame by exceeding the speed limit of 150 kph. However, because to injuries, he has only participated in seven competitive games across forms in almost two years. Mayank enters this IPL with a green light after missing IPL 2025 completely and being ruled out of IPL 2024 in the middle. Will this be his season at last?

Apr 1, 2026, 3:56 PM

LSG begins the season against DC

Last season, the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were both eliminated from the postseason. Before IPL 2026, both teams somewhat, but not completely, reset themselves. However, the parallels don't stop there.

Wanindu Hasaranga, whom LSG paid INR 2 crore for, will be absent before their season opening. The all-rounder hasn't arrived in India yet because Sri Lanka Cricket needs him to pass a fitness test. Mitchell Starc, who DC signed for INR 11.75 crore, will be sidelined for the first part of the season while he recovers from injuries to his elbow and shoulder.

In their prior meetings, two of which took place in Lucknow, DC had a 4-0 advantage over LSG. The hosts will be hoping that the score doesn't become worse on Wednesday.
